04: How to Use Plants to Improve Digestion with Greg Monzel and Colleen Donahoe

Friend - You are in for a fascinating treat. On this episode of The Full Plate, we’re diving into one of my newest obsession: digestive bitters. Digestive bitters are a game changer for most, and my friends and plant medicine experts Greg Monzel and Colleen Donahoe explain why. For those who don't know these two yet, Greg is an herbalist and Colleen is a certified yoga instructor, and together they have created Wild Persimmon School of Wellness. They have so much to share with us about how we can heal our bodies with a little (okay, a lot of) help from plants.

In addition to the adorable story of how they met, Greg & Colleen will tell us all about:

  • Digestive bitters and how they work
  • Body constitution and how knowing what your unique body needs will help you get back into homeostasis

  • What plant medicine is and how to get started with plant medicine

  • Why the dandelion is “like the bison of the plant world” (Greg really said that)

Oh, and Greg and Colleen have a few wonderfully simple tips to fill your plate and I want you do them; so, I'm sharing them here:

  • Go for a walk.
  • Sit with a plant.
  • Taste your food.

Getting started with health can be that simple. And before I forget, be sure to follow along on Instagram @wildpersimmonwellness and at www.wildpersimmonwellness.com. You can find them on Facebook too.
